About
About
My background , I have been counselling for many years and work in Private Practice. I continue to volunteer with a counselling centre one day per week. I am passionate about helping people and as a counsellor I have been privileged to see people’s lives transformed through the process.
My experience covers most situations where people suffer all forms of distress, from trauma, particularly adults suffering from childhood trauma; anxiety, depression, loss, relationship difficulties and the problems associated with relationship endings; domestic violence and psychological abuse and suicidal thoughts.
In addition to my core training I am committed to undertaking Continuous Professional Development so that I am always up to date both with theory and practice and can offer help to more people.
CPD that I have recently completed includes working online; vicarious trauma; counselling children and young people; group therapy; advanced theoretical considerations in mental health and improving clinical outcomes; working with those bereaved through suicide; complex grief;, complex PTSD;working with chronic physical conditions and chronic pain; the neuroscience of the adolescent brain.
As an integrative therapist I use a number of different tools and methods to enable me to tailor my approach to each person as I believe that there is no one size fits all with people.
I am a registered member of BACP.
